Heather Rosenblatt was appointed
Legal Adviser to the Authors' Licensing and Collecting
Society in May 1997 while acting as Secretary to the British Copyright Council. Prior
to her appointment to the BCC Heather was General Secretary of the Composers Guild
of Great Britain where she also acted as Legal Adviser to the Alliance of Composer
Organisations. She is a member of the British Copyright Council Working Party on
Technology and the British Literary and Artistic Copyright Association, being the UK
affiliate to the Association Literraire et Artistique Internationale (ALAI).
Heather was a Visiting Fellow at Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London from 1995-98. She was previously a visiting lecturer in Media Law at both QMW and University College (University of London). She is a programme consultant for the WIPO/BCC training courses and WIPO study visits held in London and legal consultant to Impulse music consultancy. Heather Rosenblatt holds a BA Hons in Philosophy and French, has completed The Law Society Common Professional Examination and holds a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law. Forthcoming publications include "Copyright Assignments: Rights and Wrongs The Collecting Societies View" for Intellectual Property Quarterly and "Books, Bytes and Boats Copyright in the Electronic Environment" for The Law Librarian. Recent publications include "Moral Rights in Practice" (pub. Journal of the Association of Professional Composers), "A Report on the WIPO Diplomatic Conference -The Birth of Two Treaties" (Computer Law and Security), and "Copyright and the European Influence" (The Researchers Guide to British Film and Television Collections) (pub.
