Q3 Please describe the scent, taste or feel of home.
It used to smell of old dogs, wet old dogs, dry is more like wheat rather than dank swamp. And as for their breath... They're all gone now, replaced with cats who have no smell and don't even huff up the window when looking out over the winter street.

My home currently smells of Linx. It's the same bodyspray my ex, afectionatly known as Simon the Psycho, used to wear. This is highly disconcerting.
Karen Bunny , Nottingham
the house has plenty of breathing space, smell of old and new books and a feeling that there is someone to care and help prepare some tasty, even if junk, food.

Today it is Singapore heat mingled with the damp of rainy season. The bell from the school next door and then the kids playing. In the distance the MRT trains rattle and traffic hums. Someone is cooking onions. Palms and banyan and a mango tree create shade and a green shield from the world. Today it is calm.
Rosemary Lim , Northern Ireland & Singapore
Beeswax lavender polish for old times sake.It reminds me of long past days. The smell of wood floors. Smoke from a log fire that we only occasionally light because we're lazy. Faint pong of cows from the farm across our road. The feel of home is like putting on a pair of old, soft carpet- slippers.Utter, utter ease and luxury.

The smell of laundry detergent reminds me of my house. It feels so comfortable and welcoming. My house is always full of people, and I love not feeling lonely. When I walk outside the air is always so crisp and clean. The thing that I love most about home is the smell and the sounds of the trees. Hearing the leaves blowing in the wind is so soothing.

The smells of my home are comforting all year round. The smells during the summer are fresh and someone is always cooking something on the grill. The winter smells like a burning fire with the aroma of my mom's homemade chilli.

My home was a very laid back but enjoyable place. I used to love to walk outside to get a smell of freshly cut grass and then walk out behind the house to get a smell of chlorine coming from the pool. Then I used to love to walk inside to the smell of a home cooked meal that hardly ever came. My family stayed busy and we were hardly ever home so most time we had to eat out.

The scents and tastes of my house consists of unburned candles, (usually vanilla or a cinnamon flavor). Also a major scent that I would associate with my house is cooking dishes like pork roast or tender loin.

My home feels cozy, warm, and laid-back. Its a place where you can relax and have fun. There is always someone to play cards with or just watch a movie. The best feeling is walking in the back door, kicking off my shoes, and being greeting by my dog, Obi. Home makes me feel welcomed and loved. My mom always brews her hazelnut coffee in the morning and our house smells like hazelnut all day.

The smell of freshly cut grass, the taste of ice-cold, sweet tea, and the sound of country music are all things that instantly carry me back home. My home always has an overwhelming feeling of welcomeness. Walls filled with laughter and floors that whisper the long gone pitter patter of little bare feet, my home has always been filled with children. To this day it still gives off a mellow and joyful vibe.

One thing I love most about my home is the smell of something simmering on the stove, or baking in the oven everytime I walk in. My mother loves to cook, so she is always making something that smells up the entire kitchen and the house, whether it be her famous chocolate chip cookies, or her Lemon ice-box pie, it is a joy to walk into something different and inviting each time I go home.

The one thing I will never forget about my home is the scent. I love walking into my house and smelling the apples. Our kitchen is decorated with apples, and we always have some kind of candle with an apple scent lit.
Amanda Moore , University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY
Home always had a scent of freshly baked cookies, fresh new flowers, carpet freshener, and Obessesion Perfume. Home had the taste of country fried chicken, maccaroni and cheese, freshly picked grapes, watermelon, cherry kool-aid, sweet tea and fudge brownies. Home felt warm on cold winter nights and cool on those long summer days. It felt soft with the newly laid carpet and cozy from the big fluffy pillows. The big heated comforters made it feel relaxing. Home felt so welcoming. Home feels good.

My house gives you a comfortable feeling. You really feel "at home" when you are at my house. It always smells like vanilla candles because my mom has burned vanilla candles for as long as I can remember. It gives you a feeling of warmth and comfort.

People say that senses are connected to our strongest memories. It is true. When I think of home, I can smell the sweet clean fragrance that distinguishes it from anyone else's house. When I come home from vacation, or just when I have been away from home for a while, the scent is even stronger. Just thinking about it relaxes me.
Shannon Thieman , Louisville, KY
My home has some what of an old scent since it is a pretty old house. I'd say it's atleast over 60 years old. It is fresh though, because there is always a breeze that flows though our home. My home feels so cozy! I just get so relaxed when I'm there. I just get really laid back. No stress. The taste of my home is sweet. I love my home I'm always happy to be there.

There are many scents of my home. The most dominant one is cinnamon. My mother loves the smell and has many air freshners around our home giving off the smell. Another smell in our home are Yankee Candles. My parents love them and has many lit around our home. When walking into our home there is a scence of home feeling because of the inviting smells and warmth coming from the candles.

The scent of home is smelling your favortie dish cooking in the oven, clean clothes coming out of the dryer and cleaning products freshly sprayed. The feeling is like no other. You have no worries about acceptance or how you will be seen by others. You feel welcome with open arms no matter what the situation. Someone is always there to hear your problems and help to find the best solution to them.
Andrew Bishop , Lexington, KY
As soon as you enter my home, you can immediately feel the love yet wrath shared between my family members. The welcome is warming, but you soon see our occasional disagreements. Overall, you will feel the loving sensation emitted by our relationships with one another. The scent is that of many. It smells as if candles were burning, covering the burnt smell of the previous dinner. The scent is so strong you can almost taste the food we had to eat.
