Bernard,

Perhaps you could explain a little more as to what you mean by text generators.

I take it you don;t mean us writers

Regards,Margaret

I could mean writers, provided they have automated text production properties ;)
There's an excellent page of generator links, and a history of "combinatory writing" at Florian Cramer's "Permutationen" website,
http://userpage.fu-berlin.de/~cantsin/index.cgi
If you want to include these tools on your own webpages, the author has "copylefted" the sourcecode, and offers downloads of every PERL cgi used on the site.
Try also the postmodern essay generator at
http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/cgi-bin/postmodern
It's complete with footnotes and bibliography as it tackles such difficult areas as "Nationalism, Saussurean semiotics and postcultural narrative" and "Dialectics of Stasis: Constructive desituationism in the works of Burroughs" by such esteemed and fictitious authors as Catherine L. Ardois-Bonnot, Department of Ontology, University of California, Berkeley, G. Henry Brophy, Department of Semiotics, Miskatonic University, Arkham, Mass., Ludwig V. Pickett, Department of Future Studies, University of Georgia and Rudolf U. P. Werther, Department of Sociolinguistics, Stanford University.
Hope this helps!

I've downloaded this "web browser", well, its not exactly a web browser in the strict
sense.

Hotwired reviewed the experience

http://www.wired.com/news/news/culture/story/20473.html

i found it extremely interesting.

P.S.: for those who dont know me, i "used" to be a regular at the old trace hangout. i
have been kinda away (season in europe, some real life issues, etc.)...

PS2: is there a way i can delete the other posting? i never meant to start a new topic since it was related to text generators. i hit "post" instead of "reply" and i got a new topic. *apologizing for acting like a newbie*
